Skeet Update Feb. 2007
Northern Skeet Diary Update by Chris Lancaster - 25 February 2007
Sunday 25 February 2007
And still the 100 straights keep rolling in……..Robert Jones 100……..Gary Cooke 100………
Oxton Shooting School/A614
A somewhat cloudy and cool day awaited us in Nottinghamshire this week-end.
Robert Jones again managed to put in another 100 straight whilst Steve Leppington and Gary Cooke (with his father's semi auto as he hadn't got his put back together!) shot 99's and Roger Beaumont 98.
Proving ever competitive Robert Jones and Gary Cooke went out to shoot "the better" targets at A614. Gary shooting a 100 straight with a borrowed Oxton school gun and Robert 98.
Well done to you all.

One Hundred Straight Club – Team Ex
This year's competition was held at Doveridge and the only thing that you could say about the weather that it was the same for everyone! – Persistent rain and gusty winds making the targets a little playful!
The Yorkshire shooters had a good day taking High Overall Gun, The Team Event, Father and Son and the Ladies Titles.
High overall gun was won by Gary Cooke who shot a 100 straight along with Peter Bloomfield, the only other straight despite the large field. Gary and Peter shot off for the title both dropping a target on the first round before pairs on the middle. Gary held his nerve whilst Peter dropped a bird on his second pair leaving Gary the winner.
The Yorkshire Team comprising Vall Fraser (Shoot Organiser), Gary Cooke, Mick Cooke, Ken Whelan (Skeet Team Manager) and Steve Leppington shot to a three target lead over Derbyshire.
Father and Son was won by Mick and Gary Cooke. Again this was close to the wire and was another shoot off with the Tudge's.
The Ladies title was won by Chris Lancaster. She and Derbyshire's Nicola Wilcox attained a 97 in these difficult conditions which led to another shoot off. This time it was Chris that dug in for a 24 after both girls dropped the same target! Another first for Yorkshire as the Ladies Team Ex Trophy does not have another Yorkshire Lady's name on it
Very well done to all.
