Skeet Selection Shoot Bywell by Sue Tyas
Skeet Selection at Bywell
Brilliant weather at Bywell (yes, it's a first!) brought out the best in the NOE skeet shooters on Sunday 3rd June.
Some great high scores mean competition is hotting up for team places. It will be a very close call at the last selection to be held at York later in the month.
High gun went to Mr Consistent, Steve Leppington with a brilliant 99. But don't look behind, because snapping at his heals were Ken Whelan, Barry Bell, Robert Jones and Harry Peart with 98. Andy Parsons was also up there with 97.
Two new faces to keep an eye out for are James Tinkler and Adam Baskind. Both have not been shooting very long, but boy are they good!
This was Adam's first shoot away from his practice ground at Rufforth and only his second registered score. He shot a brilliant 93 and took 'C' class. James shot 95 and has been bagging some very high 90's at various grounds over the last few weeks.
Other class winners were Barry Bell (A) 98, Dave Barratt (B) 96. Well done to both.
A final mention should go to junior Richard Beaumont, who shot well enough to finally beat his dad with an amazing 96! (Remember Richard, always shoot competition then you get to take money home too!) |
