5 COUNTIES SKEET CHAMPIONSHIP
5 COUNTIES TROPHY REMAINS IN YORKSHIRE
On an exremely windy and blustery bank holiday Monday, Oxton Shooting Ground held the annual 5 Counties Skeet Championship which includes Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Yorkshire.
For most of the morning Pete Shaw, from Lincolnshire, held the lead with a very solid 96. But then Yorkshires' Steve Leppington and Gary Cooke crept in front with 97 each to force a shoot off.
With targets that can only be described as 'testing' Steve shot another 25 straight, whilst last years champion Gary missed a high 6 to finish on 24.
Congratulations to Steve on his third trophy (so far!) this year.
