ABT Intercounties - East Yorkshire 12/10/2008

ABT Intercounties held up at East Yorkshire by Julie North.

Weather was superb but a little foggy in the morning but a very still day.

Team event was won by Yorkshire which I have attached a photo of and they only beat Lancashire by 2 points(much to Renny Taylor`s delight)

High Gun was Nigel Caves(98) , he was joint high gun with our own David Lloyd(98) but Nigel shot another 25 straight in the shoot off so his 98+25 won the day. David dropped 3 in the shoot off!
Ladies high gun was Charlotte Kerwood on 88 closely followed by myself on 87. There was no ladies team!!!!

A further account from Rodger Keeys.

I am writing onn behalf of the abt shooters from the north to tell you the outcome of the national intercounties ABT at East Yorkshire on the 12/10/08 . My own county , Durham won the veterans for the first time but unfortunately no other teams could be mustered to shoot for Durham and it was left to me to choose a veteran team on the spare of the moment to go and shoot. the final scores for teams and individual winners was that Durham beat lincolnshire "a" team by one target 262 to 261. Yorkshire stole victory from Lancashires team to win the seniors by only 2 targets 564 to 562 , yorkshires junior team also took the team win with 239, Jack thompson taking the individual junior win with a 94. Unfortunately no ladies teams took place in the shoot but charlotte kerwood took the individual ladies with an 88, john winn on form again took the veterans individual first with a 97 , Jack wilkinson won another colts individual first with a 84 and nigel caves and david lloyd shot off for high gun both going into the shoot off with 98s, nigel caves eventualy winning with a 25 straight. A special mention must also go to the legendary Ian Ainsley who recently became the world four ten bore champion sporting shooter and whos score helped to win the senior team first place at this shoot.

yours in sport Roger Keeys.
