NORTH OF ENGLAND ABT COUNTY SHOOT HELD AT THE A6 by I Ainsley
The weather was cold with no wind and very bright sunshine.There being some ten squads the early entires had the advantage of the weather conditions and Ken Grime took an early lead with a 93 which stood for some time.
Despite the later squads suffering visual problems with the low winter sun John stafford shot very well indeed to return a personal winning high gun score of 96.
John also captained the winning lancashire team consisting of fellow lancastrians Darren newton and Kieth Bond. The combined score of 272 was sufficient to win them the newly concieved North of England ABT Regional Team event.
