Once again the North of England has reason to celebrate as two of this regions competitors were successfull at the Dougal memorial and English Open DTL championship held at southern counties.

Despite extremely testing targets and difficult weather conditions Nigel Chapman from North Yorkshire posted a score of 100/299 to take the title Dougal Memorial champion 2009.

On day two (The English Open) Paul Chaplow along with four other competitors posted scores of 100/299.
After a long shoot of Paul was declared the winner and was duely awarded this much coverted trophy.

Congratulations also to Geoff Crossland who was a class winner at the English championship with an excellent 100/298 which also secured him a well earned position in the England Dtl Team.

The weekend was also the culmination of the England DTL team selection process with over half of the England senior places being awarded to the highly skilled shooters from this region. Two being 'new caps' Steve Fiddler and Andy Thompson.

The juniors also performed very well indeed with J Thompson and A Sikorski not only qualifying for the England team but also the European Championships to be held in France and the World championships to be held in South Africa in 2010

WELL DONE TO ALL COMPETITORS!!!

ps Ian Ainsley also made the team and with the previous caps was awarded the Team Captain for the forth coming Home International.

A selection of photos from the weekend in no particular order.
Congratulations to all concerned.

Dave Waddy.
